Vagablog on the Dana Wireless

I learned of the app Vagablog the other day from MyPalmLife and thought I'd give it a go on my Dana Wireless. After some fiddling around with the Moveable Type server setup (it took a peek at Bitsplitter's download/setup page to resolve) I was in business.

Vagablog seems nice and simple and appears to work pretty well. I love that it can surround text with tags, such as bold, italic and even web links. One big advantage for me was, it doesn't require any Java runtime to work... something that turned me off on some other tools.

The only aspect of the tool I have not been to the bottom of, is the filesize limit. Is it stuck at 4k like the old Memo Pad or does it reach 32k? Small posts would work just fine at 4k, but for longer ones, at least 32k is needed. Might be worth an email to Mike Rowehl at Bitsplitter.

Of course there are many other features I would love to see, like a listing of posts (maybe the most recent 10) but hey, have to start somewhere. It might also be good to not over-feature an app like this.

More on this as I experiment. :-)

P.S. The bulk of this post was generated in Vagablog and then tweaked in NetNewsWire for the Mac.
