Funny New Apple Ads

Last night my wife and I were watching a little TV and saw Apple's latest TV ads with two characters: one kind of nerdy, middle aged guy playing the role of a PC, and a hip cool young guy playing a Mac. I liked the humor, which is of course at the expense of the PC.

Here's one of my favorites of the ad series, called Viruses:

Check out all 6 new ads on the Apple site or several now on YouTube. I suspect all of the ads will be there shortly. Enjoy!

Hmm... I can imagine a pithy response to this in relation to the cost of a nice mac and/or mac software/OS. Oh well, maybe I'll just plunk down 799$ on a mac mini duo.

They are pretty funny.

An addendum: (mocking the fact that they put this cool young guy up against a middle aged guy with glasses)

Loved the Viruses and Restarting clips. Apple did a great casting job on these ads, John Hodgman and Justin Long are superb in their respective roles as the PC and the Mac.

BTW, fun tidbit from Daring Fireball, in case anyone was wondering:

"In 'Network', the Japanese girl playing the digital camera says something (in Japanese) near the end that causes both herself and the Mac guy to crack up. Thanks to Takaaki Kato, I have a translation: 'He looks like a nerd'. (The Japanese word she uses is Otaku.)"

Arto:

As a person just getting into ruby, I very much enjoy the Ruby snippets on your site, thanks for putting those up there. I love it when programmers share knowledge.
